The village of Skaneateles voted to repeal a law limiting political signs they believed to be unconstitutional.
It was the second such repeal in a month's time. The Manlius town board voted September 11 to repeal a law restricting the use of political signs. That law had been challenged as a violation of free speech by retired Syracuse University Newhouse School dean David Rubin. In Skaneateles, the board felt the law was a well-intentioned effort to limit clutter, but it was unconstitutional.
