North Syracuse Schools Referendum Passes

Voters in the North Syracuse school district agreed to the district's plan to improve its athletic complex and enhance security at CNS High School.

The referendum received 80.6% approval, with 1,331 in favor and 319 opposed. The $2-plus million project was paid for locally by a special athletic complex fund. No local tax dollars will be used. Superintendent of schools Annette Speach says, "We are just thankful that when the current turf and track were installed 14 years ago, a fund was set up in anticipation of their eventual replacement." Construction is set to begin this spring.
