TYRE, N.Y. (AP) _ An upstate New York developer says he wants to build a $350 million casino in the Finger Lakes.
Wilmorite Chairman Thomas Wilmot says the proposed casino complex in the town to Tyre in Seneca County would include a hotel and a spa. It would be built near Thruway Exit 41.
State officials will begin next year awarding up to four casino licenses in upstate New York now that voters have passed a state constitutional amendment to allow expanded gambling. At least one of those casinos could go in parts of the Southern Tier or the Finger Lakes.
Wilmot says the Wilmot Casino & Resort will apply for one of those four casino licenses.
