Madison County Sheriffs Deputies say they've charged a 13 year old boy with animal cruelty after uncovering a case of torture in the Town of Lenox.
Deputies say they got a call that a juvenile shot a dog with a pellet gun. Deputies arrested a 13 year old and charged him with one count of violating the state's Agriculture and Markets Law. Specifically, Torturing or Injuring an Animal, which is a misdemeanor.
The junvenile's parents have also been issued an appearance ticket for Madison County Family Court, where the charges will be answered in early November.
The pellet gun was seized because it was used in the commission of a crime.
The dog was transported to an animal hospital in Syracuse to be treated for injuries.
