Ithaca Police Arrest Homeless Man Suspected Of Abusing Cats

Ithaca police say they have arrested a homeless man who they believe abused three cats in Tompkins County.

Cornell Police learned from a maintenance worker who said he found three dead cats with ropes around their neck in the Cascading Gorge. An investigation including the Tompkins County Dar's office, Tompkins county SPCA and Ithaca Police, campus authorities arrested 22-year-old Michael Medina. Medina is currently homeless and has been charged with three counts of aggravated animal cruelty. He's being held in the Tompkins County Public Safety Building on an unrelated charge.
