Parts of the SUNY Cortland campus were evacuated Thursday morning after a construction crew accidentally tore into a gas line.
Campus officials though say the gas leak shouldn't impact the arrival today of the New York Jets for their annual training camp.
Moffet Hall, Old Main Hall and Sperry Hall were evacuated Thursday after the line was hit, but campus officials say the immediate danger has passed, although crews are going into each building looking for any signs of gas.
The Jets are due to arrive in town between three and four Thursday afternooon for a public reception in downtown Cortland before heading to the campus for thier three week stay. The team will be staying in or near the college's athletics complex, which is not in close proximity to the gas leak.
The first public training camp begins Friday. The camp is expected to draw at least 30 thousand football fans to Cortland to watch the team practice.
