Elderly Syracuse Woman Reported Missing

 The Syracuse Police Department is currently seeking the public’s assistance in locating a seventy-six year old female who has been missing since Sunday August 25, 2013 at 9:50pm. The victim, Roberta Mary VanSkoik, age 76, date of birth:02/17/1937 is described as a white, female, 4'10", 95 pounds, black hair in ponytail, blue eyes, wearing a white jacket with stains on it and blue pants.  She is missing from 143 Mary St. apartment#107. She was last seen on August 25, 2013 at 10:00pm.  VanSkoik has the beginning stages of Alzheimer's disease.

  At 5:30pm on August 25, 2013, Roberta VanSkoik called her son, and said she was going to walk over to his house at 212 Hier Ave.   He states he never saw her arrived at his residence.

 A neighbor, on Hier Ave.said Roberta did arrive at her son's residence but no one answered the door.  The Neighbor reported that Roberta VanSkoik visited with him and his wife for a short time then around 8:00pm and the neighbor gave her a ride to Vinette Towers, located at 947 Pond St, because that is where VanSkoik told him she lived. The neighbor said he drove VanSkoik to Vinette Towers and watched her enter the building and he left. The desk attendant at Vinette Towers said Roberta VanSkoik came into the building at around 9:00pm and wanted to be let into her apartment.

 The attendant said he told Roberta VanSkoik she did not live there and she left. The desk attendant said Roberta VanSkoik came back in around 10:00pm and wanted again to be let into her apartment.  The attendant said he told her, she does not live there and she left again walking east on Pond St. towards Grant Boulevard.  That was the last time anyone saw Roberta VanSkoik.

The Syracuse Police request that anyone who has any information on Roberta VanSkoik please call 911 or the Syracuse Police Criminal Investigation Division at 442-5222.
