SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) _ New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo isn't endorsing the re-election campaign of fellow Democrat Stephanie Miner, the incumbent Syracuse mayor who criticized one of his proposals earlier this year.
Cuomo gave his support to Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown during an appearance on the city's Lake Erie waterfront Thursday. But when asked if he would be making an endorsement in the three-way primary for mayor of Syracuse, the governor said no. Miner, the state Democratic co-chair, was critical of the governor's plan to allow cities to spread pension payments over 20 years to ease municipal costs. She called it a ``gimmick.'' The two had a reunion in Syracuse in late May, but their relationship is still not considered close.
